Baby Owls

Baby owls 20 Sept 2010

The baby owls are still in our garden, I missed them for a few days.  But they have sat most of today, first above one another, and then side by side, for hours. Their feathers are quite pronounced now, not so much baby fluff.

Do you have habitat for wild life near you? To ensure that these owls can live and breed here again next year, the tree they roost must be kept.  It is on the neighbouring property, and could easily to cut down if they wanted to develop the land.

Our apartment block  borders on pockets of swamp forest, which gives the owls habitat to live and hunt.

Are you able to create a habitat for wildlife near you?

A tree can only grow as tall as its roots are deep

A lovely reminder by Colleen Joy Page that we need to feel deeply secure within ourselves, in order to stand up and be all that we are intended to be.

The Fever tree in the photograph is in the Timbavati, where I went to visit the White Lions
