Litter

I am truly appalled at the amount of litter polluting our landscape and our water sources. – how would it be if we had a new campaign in place of Football Friday, where each Friday we rally under our amazing flag and pick up the litter on our own doorsteps?  If every person got into the habit of doing this, and the schoolchildren went out during lunch and picked up litter around their schools, such a small thing, but IF EVERYONE DID IT?

Get everyone involved, the headmistress, the mayor, the MD, and the tea maker, and the typists – litter and polluted water is everyone’s problem

Collecting Rubbish

On my walk this morning, I collected a whole bag of rubbish off  street in the space of 75  metres!  One of the street sellers said to me – thank you for helping the municiplity collect rubbish, if every body did it, we would have clean streets!  I did point out that if people did not throw their bottles and cans down, we would also have clean streets!

Clean your own doorstep

I went for my usual walk this morning, on our glorious beachfront, but on the way home noticed that there was a lot of plastic around the entrance to my apartment.  As I picked it up, I thought that if everyone did just this small thing, just pick up the rubbish around their own front door, it would save all that from going down the stormwater drains into the sea, where it chokes dolphins, turtles, and whales.

Such a small thing, but IF EVERYONE DID IT?!!!!!
