Save the Earth?

By franjex · Comments (0)

Having anguished so long about what to do to ‘save the earth’.  I have realised that it is totally presumptuous to think the earth needs saving, she will simply shrug her mighty shoulders and ditch us when she feels she has had enough.

So actually, if humans want to survive, I would say, sod the earth – save yourself.  It is us, who are poised to go extinct as a failed species, motivated by greed and desperation.

And how do we make things better?  Again I have suffered agonies over what to do – grow veggies, save water, use less electricity, anxiety about the future of money, what will happen when it all goes pear shaped?  And what happens when solar flares hit, and knock out the whole electronic system?  It all got too much, so this is my solution, if anyone feels moved to join me.

My friend Craig Cumming suggested visualising a perfect world as I see it, and my life coach Louise Peterson tells me I manifest really quickly in my own life, so I figured if I just start to focus on a vision of living on a  beautiful abundant earth, powered by clean, free energy, sparkling rivers, tumbling fresh water, profusion of fish, abundant fields of food, and aware, conscious humans living clean lives.

If we can consciously lift our thoughts and vibrate on a higher level, if we can reach critical mass so that the whole world has to change, surely we can lift ourselves out of this mess in one massive jump?

What do you think, can we create a beautiful world with the power of vision, prayer, mediation, positive thought… Please all share your visions for a perfect earth.

Act Now!

By franjex · Comments (0)

Only when the last fish has been caught
Only when the last tree has been cut down
Only when the last river has been poisoned
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten…

All around us is evidence of this terrible American Indian prophecy becoming true, as our rivers become more and more filthy, we destroy our beautiful grasslands to grow trees for paper, our forests are invaded by slash and burn farmers who decimate the land.

No farmer would ever allow overstocking on his lands, but we have already overstocked and overconsumed our earth’s carrying capacity, and who dares to stop us?

Except Earth herself, when she has had enough of us: – we will die of disease as we become resistant to antibiotics, starve as we destroy our soil, kill our seas with oil and sewerage and plastic.

Do you really want to wait until earth gets rid of you?  or do you want to start now and quickly, to make some changes?

Most people now live in cities, with no concept of water shortages, polluted rivers, droughts, -you throw away your rubbish with no idea of what ‘away’ means.  Until the day you turn on your tap and there is no water – how long would it take without being able to flush your toilet before you were sorry you didnt take more care of our water resources?

Join me now, sign up on my blog for go green tips, start making easy changes to your habits, and if everyone does it, those small changes will add up to massive savings for our earth.  You CAN make a difference!

Going Green

By franjex · Comments (0)

Going green is a mindset – a process. Don’t try to do it all at once, it will be like any change (dieting!?) where you start off all keen and then fizzle out. Start slowly, one step at a time.

I am going to post you a small tip every couple of days, so that you can start to change your ways. Make it a game, see how you can get your family to change too.

You the consumer have enormous power to force change. As YOU demand less packaging and healthier food to put into your precious body, so the mighty supermarkets have to listen.

Food is an absolute necessity – have you ever thought about why food must be advertised? Do you see huge bill boards advertising broccoli, or almonds -no, only the processed food full of preservatives that will ruin your health need bright magazine ads.

You might not think it makes much difference what you do, but as I lay it the bath the other night, filling the bath with yet more hot water while I read a book, I thought:  that is a lot of water, never mind electricity.  But its ok, it’s only me.  And then it hit me – what would happen if 100 people saved 50 litres of water per night, and 1,000 people, and 10,000 people, and 100,000,000 people…… and
What if everyone did it?

What if EVERYONE changed their habits, bit by bit, ALL saving just a bit – how would that add up?

SO, YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Every tiny change YOU make, adds to a MASSIVE change on a global scale, so let’s all start now!  Bit by bit, small change by small change until it becomes a habit.

Forget not

Forget not

I love this quote by Kahlil Gibran, one of my very favourite authors, – forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the winds long to play in your hair.  We rush through life, forgetting to take time to walk barefoot in the grass, or the water, or even at home if that is all we have.  Allow the wind to blow us a little, breathe the air, rejoice in life.  It is too easy to get caught up in the rat race, give yourself ten minutes a day to feel and connect with the earth, and when you have learned that it is ok to do that, build it up, and spend more time feeling joyful.  Joy takes practise if you have forgotten how to feel it.
